Practice Areas: Property tax litigation; civil litigation and appellate practice.

Bio: Bill Ikard is a founding partner of Ikard Wynne LLP. For more than 35 years, he has concentrated his practice on representing property owners in litigation involving property tax. Bill has represented property owners in many industries and commercial enterprises, including pipeline properties, crude oil inventories, oil and gas reserves, lignite reserves, limestone rock reserves, silver mining, environmental laboratories, oil and gas drilling and processing machinery and equipment, salt dome underground storage capacity, residential lot inventory, elite-branded hotels and downtown office buildings.

In addition to prosecuting numerous taxpayers’ appeals dealing with appraised value and equality and uniformity, Bill has successfully handled cases involving state and federal constitutional issues, including interstate commerce, religious and charitable exemptions, jurisdiction to tax, open space and agricultural use valuation and interstate allocation.

Bill began his law practice in 1972 with Bracewell & Patterson (now Bracewell & Guliani). In addition to property tax, Bill represents clients in civil trial and appellate matters. Most notably he was lead trial and appellate counsel for the plaintiffs and the class in the PEC Class Action.
